Discover the beauty of Mount Diablo and support the cause of Save Mount Diablo!
UPDATES (3/12/10):
Carpool! Carpool! Carpool! Parking is limited!
Registration for all distances is still open online and will be available on race day. Seats on the 50K bus (from finish area to the start) are limited and late 50K registrants should e-mail us to check for availability.
Registration will also be available at Forward Motion Sports on 3/18 and 3/19 (at the same time as the bib/shirt/bag pick-up).
For over 38 years, Save Mount Diablo has worked tirelessly to preserve and increase the open space on and around Mount Diablo. In that time, their efforts have taken us from 6,788 acres of open space to over 100,000 acres of open space on and around the mountain!
With distances suitable for everyone from those hitting the trail for the first time to experienced ultra-runners, the Diablo Trails Challenge was created to help celebrate and support these achievements.
A portion of all entry fees will go to Save Mount Diablo to help them continue preserving open space and trails for all of us to enjoy.
All runners will receive custom finisher medals and custom shirts (cotton and tech shirts available). More info on shirts/awards page.
There will also be a post-race BBQ available for all runners.

As with all events put on by Brazen Racing, you'll find an atmosphere of camaraderie and encouragement no matter what your fitness level. Walkers/hikers are always welcome (50K will have a time limit but all other courses will be open long enough to accomodate walkers). Photos of recent events can be seen here.
Age group awards will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in 5 year categories (smaller categories for the younger ages).

The 5K, 10K and Half Marathon will all begin and end at Castle Rock Park in Walnut Creek.
The 50K is a point to point run and will begin at Round Valley Regional Preserve, following the Diablo Trail through Morgan Territory Regional Preserve, Mount Diablo State Park and finishing in Castle Rock Park. There will be a bus leaving from Castle Rock Park to the race start at 6:30am (seats must be reserved in advance).
Start times will be: 8:00am for the 50K (bus departs from start area at 6:30), 9:00am for the Half Marathon, 9:10am for the 10K and 9:20am for the 5K.
All races will be professionally timed.
Participation will be limited to a total of 600 entrants for all races combined. Shirt sizes (and tech shirts) can only be guaranteed to those who sign up by March 7th, so we recommend early registration.
