Unfortunately, this race does not have an open course. The
shortcuts used in the past have been banned by the National Park Service and State Park for five years. Double Dipsea runners are required to stay on the marked course at all times. Participants who take shortcuts will be disqualified, removed from the results and deemed ineligible for participation in future Double Dipsea events. This is not a rule created by the DSE Runners or Brazen Racing, but compliance is necessary for the future of the race and so we must enforce it.
While there is little chance of anyone becoming seriously lost, there is always the possibility of becoming confused as to which way you should be going -- particularly in the wooded areas where it is easier to get disoriented. For this reason we ask you to pay close attention to the course markings. All runners are responsible for knowing and following the course and taking a shortcut or skipping any part of the course is not permitted.
Marking will be done with flour, ribbons, signs and course monitors who will help at tricky intersections to make sure you are going the right way. By following these, you should have no trouble staying on course.
There will be waves for start times, the first of which at 7:00 am sharp! See below for your wave.
