Whether you are looking to squeeze in your first trail run or you're looking to log that 1,000th mile before the clock strikes midnight on 12/31/2016, this is your chance!
Our New Year's Eve race will have a new location for 2016: Quarry Lakes in Fremont!
And if that's not enough New Year running for you, join us at Lake Chabot on New Year's Day, do it again and earn the Brazen New Year Mega-Medal! Learn about the New Year's Day race here.
For the more adventurous, you can run the "Brazen New Year Marathon" (= two half marathons, one on 12/31 and one on 1/1) and then brag to your friends: "It took me two years to finish that marathon"!
Courses are flat and will be different routes than our other events at this park.
All runners will receive custom finisher medals and custom shirts (cotton and tech shirts available). More info on shirts/awards page.
Age group awards will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in 5 year categories (less for the younger ages).
Start times will be: 8:30am for the half marathon, 8:55am for the 10K and 9:10am for the 5K.
For half marathon participants who wish to hike the course and take more than 4.5 hours, we will offer a "Hiker Start" at 7:30 am. Those starting at 7:30 should carry water as the first and second aid stations might not be 100% up and running, depending on the hikers speed. Hiker starts will not be eligible to win the race or for age group awards, but will be listed as official finishers in the Hikers Division and will still receive finisher medals.
All races will be professionally timed.
Note: We will have many extra shirts at the race, but because we have to print our shirts well ahead of race day, we can only 100% positively guarantee requested shirt sizes to those who sign up by 12/10/16.
