The rarely seen Quarry Turkey will make his appearance two days after the big feast, fueled-up and ready to take on all the little turkeys! Come start a new Thanksgiving weekend tradition with a fast, mostly-flat half marathon, 10K or 5K!
Little Turkeys Race (about 100 yards or so) is free to all children brought with race participants.
Since the Quarry Turkey is all about food, we're holding a food drive benefitting Alameda County Food Bank and are encouraging all participants (including little turkeys) to bring at least one canned good on race morning.
All races begin and end at Quarry Lakes Recreational Area, with the 10K and half marathon races going out along the Alameda Creek Trail. Trails are primarily fire trail with short paved sections.
Walkers/hikers and runners of all levels are welcome!
All finishers will receive custom finisher medals and custom shirts (cotton and tech shirts available). More info on shirts/awards page.
The Half Marathon will start at 8:00 am, the 10K at 8:20 am and the 5K at 8:40 am. Little Turkeys Race will start at 7:40 am.
A 7:00 am start will be available for hikers. Hikers must carry water and be capable of following the course map on their own. Course monitors and aid stations may not yet be open for the first part of the course. Hikers are not eligible for overall or age group awards, but do receive official finish times, finisher medals, shirts, etc., exactly the same as all other runners.
All races will be professionally timed with electronic chip timing.
Shirts can only be guaranteed to those who sign up by 11/2, so we recommend early registration.
