How long is a 5K?

5 kilometers = 3.1 miles

Where do we park?

Local parking will be available near the park. Off-site lots (with shuttles) may also be made available as needed. Details will be included in the pre-race instructions, sent by e-mail during the week before the race. These details will also be made available (at that same time) on the race website.

Can I wear headphones?

Yes, but we ask that you keep the volume down at a safe level so that you can hear other runners or instructions from event personnel. We also ask that you remove them, or, at the very least, remove one ear bud when you are coming to water stations. The important thing is paying attention for everyone's safety and maintaining basic race etiquette with other runners.

Are there bathrooms on the course?

There are bathrooms with running water near the start/finish area. There will also be port-o-potties at the start/finish area.

Can I register on the day of the race?

If the race has not sold out before then (check back here for updates), race day registration will open 6:45 a.m.

I am a very slow runner. Am I going to be out of place?

You won't be out of place at all. Our races are planned for participants of all abilities -- including walkers/hikers.

Can I push a stroller?

Yes, strollers are fine.  If you plan to finish in the top 10, you would want to start near the front, but otherwise, to keep things safe for everyone, strollers should start at the back.

When/where do I pick up my bib/race packet?

To make it easy for everyone to run, bibs will be mailed out to every participant who is signed up by August 9th.  Those who register after that date will need to pick up their bib on the morning of the event.

Will there be somewhere to leave my warm-up clothes?

Yes, there will be a "sweat-check" area and these will be checked in and watched over by a volunteer. Bags for storing your sweats will be available if you do not bring your own. Please do not leave valuables in your sweat bags -- we cannot be responsible for these items.

Can my dog run with me during the race?

Unfortunately, as much as we love dogs and running with our own, not everyone is comfortable being around dogs (even if leashed) and for reasons of safety (for those with two legs and four) we ask runners not to bring their dogs on the race course.

Will the race be cancelled if it rains?

The race will go on rain or shine.  Courses may be modified to account for weather conditions.

Do you issue refunds?

Sorry, there are no refunds for those who sign up but are later unable to participate.

When I first started running, I was so embarrassed, I'd walk when cars passed me. I'd pretend I was looking at the flowers.
